MINI REUNION; BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

CELEBRATION THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11

Class of 1960 Birthday Celebration This Thursday, October 11, 2012

Come join us for lunch at the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant  beginning at 11:00 am.   The restaurant is located on Route 340 (Old Philadelphia Pike) in Bird-In-Hand, PA.  Please plan to meet in the front lobby of the restaurant, no later than 11:10 so that we may be seated together.

You and your spouse/guest (if present) will be able to select the smorgasbord meal ($11.99 per person plus tax and gratuity, total $14.50) or you may order a less expensive meal from the menu, either a lunch or dinner item.  Each person or couple will only pay for what they order, no extra charges.

After we have our meal at the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant, we will take a short tour of Lancaster County on our way to our next stop, the actual Birthday Celebration with cake and ice cream.  For this event, we have arranged to use the dining room of Calvary Church, our church home, located at 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster.  It is about a 12 minute drive from the restaurant and the facility is quite comfortable and spacious for our visiting time. 

The evening of Thursday, October 11, there is a free fun night of dancing sponsored by the Swing Thru Square Dance Club at the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange Street, Lititz, PA   If you plan to stay in the Lancaster area, you would be welcome to come to this event from 7 to 9 p.m.   Dress is casual.  No experience necessary.  Exercise your mind…exercise your body…and have fun doing it! 

All of these events are optional, please come for any or all of them that fit your schedule.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone.  Dress is casual for all events.

More Plans for the INTERBORO CLASS OF 1960 70^th Birthday Celebration

After we have our meal at the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant, we will take a short tour of Lancaster County on our way to our next stop, the actual Birthday Celebration with cake and ice cream.  For this event, we have arranged to use the dining room of Calvary Church, our church home, located at 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster.  It is about a 12 minute drive from the restaurant and will be quite comfortable and spacious for our visiting time. 

Following our time together, you will be on your own to continue your stay in Lancaster County, to travel home or whatever you have planned for your day.

MINI REUNION UPDATE

Plans are firming up for the INTERBORO CLASS OF 1960            70^th Birthday Celebration

The event will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2012 beginning at 11am.  We will be meeting and eating at the Bird-In-Hand Family Restaurant on Route 340 (Old Philadelphia Pike) in Bird-In-Hand, PA.  Please plan to meet in the front lobby of the restaurant, no later than 11:10 so that we may be seated together.

The restaurant has given us a private area where we can dine and visit to get caught up.  They said that we should be able to stay extra time in that area following the meal for further visiting.  The town has some interesting shops, a bakery, and a farmers’ market….all close by if you would like to check them out after our time together.  Of course, there are many other interesting places and things to see and do in the Lancaster area.

So far, we have had very favorable responses.  Of course, many classmates that are far from us have said that they will be unable to attend due to the distance.  Although, Bill Monteith has said that he hopes to be here from Florida!  I am expecting about 20 to 30 people to attend at this point, perhaps more it’s hard to say (responses are still arriving).

WE HAVE SEVERAL DINING SPOTS SELECTED DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ATTEND.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU (AND YOUR SPOUSE OR GUEST) WILL BE JOINING THE CELEBRATION

DETAILS:  ARRIVE IN LANCASTER AREA BY 11:00 A.M. AT LOCAL DINING FACILITY (TO BE DETERMINED…COULD BE “DJ’S TASTE OF THE FIFTIES”, BIRD-IN-HAND FAMILY RESTAURANT, OR OTHER).   ACTIVITY WOULD BE OVER BY 4:00 P.M. OR EARLIER IF YOU NEEDED TO LEAVE, NO FORMAL PLANS JUST SOME VISITING AND GETTING CAUGHT UP WITH EACH OTHER.  AND, OF COURSE, ICE CREAM AND BIRTHDAY CAKE!
